Immortal Technique Continues Rebel Army Runs Fundraiser

Immortal Technique was in Harlem on Wednesday (October 12) where he and fellow rhymer Swave Sevah handed out 80 food packs as part of his Rebel Army Runs initiative. As he explained via Twitter, "Today my brother @SwaveSevah_and I made 80 food packs for the @rebelarmyruns Harlem mission that will take place tomorrow. Thank you to everyone that donated we are a 501c3 and your donations are tax deductible." 

Immortal Technique has been devoted to the cause for months. In an accompanying GoFundMe, he outlined what his mission is.

Mt. Westmore Finally Announces Debut Album Streaming Release Date

Mt. Westmore—the supergroup comprised of Snoop Dogg, Too $hort, E-40 and Ice Cube—released its debut album, "Bad MFs," in June, but it was only available in the metaverse (meaning it was wayyyyyy too expensive). Now, the West Coast legends have finally revealed when it will be available to the masses via digital streaming platforms. 

On Tuesday (October 11), Mt. Westmore shared an Instagram post announcing  a single from the album called "Too Much" is scheduled to arrive on October 21. The caption read: "This is not a drill…'TOO BIG' by @mount_westmore on all platforms October 21st. Look for the @mount_westmore album: 'SNOOP, CUBE, 40, SHORT' to hit the streets on December 9th @snoopdogg, @icecube, @e40, @tooshort."

Ice Cube, Cypress Hill and Bone Thugs-n-Harmony are among the classic Hip Hop acts scheduled to perform at the High Hopes Concert Series in Ontario, California on November 19. Hosted by Dr. Greenthumb, the event boasts additional performances from Method Man & Redman, Warren G & Tha Dogg Pound, Berner, Suga Free and Baby Bash with special guest Xzibit.

Kid Koala Releases "Some Of My Best Friends Are DJs" Vinyl + Comic Book

Kid Koala has returned with "Some Of My Best Friends Are DJs" vinyl and an accompanying 50-page comic book drawn by Kid Koala himself. Comprised of 15 tracks, the album puts his innate musical skills on display as well as his artistic leanings. The project is currently on sale on Kid Koala's website, which can be found here

"Some Of My Best Friends Are DJs" was originally released in 2003 via Ninja Tune as Kid Koala's sophomore album and peaked at No. 26 on the UK Independent Albums Chart. Lauryn Hill Teases 25th Anniversary Tour For "The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill"

Lauryn Hill released her one and only solo album, "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill," in 1998 to critical acclaim. During her headlining set at the ONE MusicFest in Atlanta on Saturday (October 8), The Fugees MC teased a tour in celebration of the iconic album's 25th anniversary. 

“25 years on," she said. "So we gonna be back with those songs the way you can recognize them, aye?”

Featuring hits such as “Doo Wop (That Thing),” “Ex-Factor” and “Everything Is Everything,” "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill" debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with over 422,000 copies sold in its first week. At the 1999 Grammy Awards, Hill became the first Hip Hop act to win the coveted Album of the Year award.

Jermaine Dupri Confirms So So Def Vs. Bad Boy Records Verzuz

So So Def founder Jermaine Dupri was onstage at the ONE MusicFest in Atlanta over the weekend when he made a big announcement. Speaking to the crowd, Dupri revealed a Verzuz battle between So So Def and Diddy's Bad Boy Records was imminent, although he didn't specify a date. 

As he says in the YouTube clip, "I'm saying this to let y'all know the So So Def Bad Boy Verzuz is happening." Of course, the audience went wild with anticipation and put their enthusiasm front and center. 

Co-founded by Swizz Beatz and Timbaland, Verzuz began as a way to beat the quarantine blues as the concert industry shut down during the COVID-19 pandemic. As it became more popular, Triller ended up buying Verzuz and putting it on a much larger platform.
