Grace Jones calls out Rihanna, Miley Cyrus & Beyonce
Grace Jones lamented the current state of pop music in an excerpt from her book I'll Never Write My Memoirs. The singer, actress, and fashion icon will publish her autobiography on September 29th. But before then, she has released a snippet of it via Time Out. In the snippet, Jones states how trends "come along" and go and how she's been copied by modern stars who have no "long-term vision". Jones writes, "Trends come along and people say, 'Follow that trend'. There’s a lot of that around at the moment: 'Be like Sasha Fierce (Beyonce). Be like Miley Cyrus. Be like Rihanna. Be like Lady Gaga. Be like Rita Ora and Sia. Be like Madonna.' I cannot be like them - except to the extent that they are already being like me." Jones adds, "The problem with...the

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis performed their new single "Downtown" last night on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and there was something for everybody during the performance. Or I expected to be that," he said. "I wasn't mad at that…but I think that I'm a serious artist. So it's a fine line to walk. But I accept that. This is the realm that we're in." Meek Mill reacted angrily to a fan who brought a Drake-inspired sign to one of his concerts. The incident took place at Fool's Gold's Day Off festival in New York on Monday (September 7), with a fan who poked fun at Mill's recent feud with Drake. The incredibly publicized feud happened after Mill accused Drake via Twitter of using a ghostwriter for his lyrics, which inevitably led to both Drake and Meek Mill releasing diss tracks and veiled shit talking. Prince has expressed his admiration of both Kanye West and Kendrick Lamar despite claiming that it's currently a "bad time for music". Earlier in the week, Prince was asked his opinion on Tame Impala, The Weeknd, and Miguel being influenced by his work. Prince replied: "There might be music that sounds like me, but what good is that? You're essentially in the feedback loop. It's a bad time for music in general. There's not a lot of pop music in the mainstream that makes you feel scared, that makes you wonder what's happening." Then, in an interview with Medium, however, he revealed that he is in fact a fan of Lamar's and his most recent album 'To Pimp A Butterfly'. "He just has something to say," said the singer.
