Wale headed to his native land of Nigeria in his latest music video for his song “The God Smile”. Born Olubowale Victor Akintimehin, Wale is the son of immigrant Nigerian parents. This particular track comes from Wale’s 2015 No. 1-selling LP The Album About Nothing. Following “The Matrimony” and “The Girls On Drugs” this track serves as the third-single from the record.
Aside from rapping, the multi-faceted rapper has begun to diversify his brand in 2016. The Grammy-nominated artist has his own video game in the works as well as interactive fashion look books. Speaking about his new ventures into the world of technology Wale said, “It’s the evolution of the music business…you don’t really make money from physical albums like that, I am more concerned with the tour.”
