Hip-hop's The Game turns 36!

On this day, Hip-hop replays The Game, literally, as the iconic West Coast emcee celebrates the date of his birth.

The Game first took to Hip-hop underground in the early 2000's. In an age wherein fans perceived Hip-hop dominance began tipping more towards the East, Game became a driving force bringing West Coast rap back onto the mainstream, as others rallied alongside in competition with counterparts in the East.

In 2005, Game released his first major-label album, The Documentary, which debuted at #1 on the US Billboard 200, as well as imminently attaining RIAA Double Platinum merely two months afterwards. With hit-singles such as “Westside Story”, “Hate It Or Love It”, and “Dreams”, fans reveled at the dark tales, intricately inspired from the emcee's particularly troubled past, nevertheless blended with such fierce passion Game projected with each line and hook.

The Game followed up a year afterwards with his second album, Doctor's Advocate, which garnered the emcee's second top-charting album, debuting at the peak of Billboard's 200 chart. Fans saw a return to familiar West-brand themes, such as urban life, gang violence, and drug abuse.
