Run DMC's Christmas In Hollis is coming back in time for Christmas

Run DMC's classic hip hop holiday anthem, Christmas In Hollis, is being re-released in a special, limited edition vinyl package, just weeks before Christmas.

Legacy Recordings, the branch of Sony Music dedicated to preserving and re-releasing classic rock, pop, and hip hop, will be re-releasing Run DMC's seminal Christmas tune on a limited edition, 12" vinyl picture disc, which will be decorated with an image of the band on one side and will feature the group's logo on the other. The record will also feature the previously unreleased instrumental version of Christmas in Hollis.

Christmas in Hollis was originally released in 1987. The Rick Rubin produced track was reasonably popular when it was originally released, but also unexpectedly experienced a resurgence of popularity during the 2000 holiday season, when it managed to break back onto the Billboard Top 200 more than 13 years after it was first released.

The re-release of Christmas In Hollis is just one of several limited edition records that Legacy Recordings will be releasing to independent record stores on Black Friday (November 25th) this year. Other records only available on that day also include Jimi Hendrix's Morning Symphony Ideas and Bob Dylan's The Real Royal Albert Hall 1966 Concert. If you need to find an independent record store in your area, this site has a listing of stores that will be stocking Legacy Recordings' limited editions.
