It's not news to say that Drake is popular, but sometimes you need a little perspective to understand just how popular the Canadian rapper, singer, and actor is. "One Dance," a track off of Drake's multi-platinum 2016 album Views, has been streamed a whopping 880 million times on the popular Spotify streaming music service. Views and "One Dance" received a tepid reception from critics when the album dropped last April, but that hasn't stopped both the album and the single from raking in the sales and the streams. A few weeks ago, Apple similarly announced that Views had been streamed a billion times on their Apple Music streaming services.

The Spotify record was previously held by the genre-defying band Major Lazer and their song, "Lean On." While the service is frequently criticized for the reportedly small amount artists are paid for each stream, Spotify is currently the world's most popular streaming service, boasting over 100 million registered users worldwide. In 2015, the RIAA announced that streaming music had become the biggest source of income for the music industry, overtaking digital downloads and physical sales of albums.
