Raekwon Announces New Album Dropping Next Year

Wu Tang's resident chef is cooking up something new, and thanks to a recent Instagram post, we finally have confirmation.

Following a year of excruciating silence, Raekwon finally broke the ice through social media wherein a comical shot of him getting a trim captioned, “LP IS DONE !!!!! #blades is sharpened. #2017 release litted !!!!! I will always appreciate real rap...... #factual.”

Although still untitled as far as we know, the announced LP ushers in the seventh installment adding onto the Wu Tang emcee's decorated repertoire, marking eleven years since his Only Built 4 Cuban Linx debut back in 1995. Apart from this, Raekwon accounts a laundry list of mixtapes and projects, as well as a memorable collaborative album with fellow clansmen, Method Man and Ghostface Killah.

Raekwon's most recent album, Fly International Luxurious Art, released just last year, featured a myriad of guest appearances from the likes of 2 Chainz, Snoop Dogg, Busta Rhymes, French Montana, and A$AP Rocky to name a few, and while no further information has been provided, social media speculates the forthcoming album to showcase production from A-Trak, as well as a rumored feature artist, Justin Bieber.

The idea of a vintage Hip-hop album blending in with younger artists and newer styles does sound interesting—but that's all simply a matter of speculation for now. One thing for sure, Raekwon will be returning next year with a brand new album.
