Joe Young initially got his start as a party promoter in Germany, and by being surrounded by the hip-hop/rap scene. As any respectable artist would, he draws inspiration for his lyrics and writing from everyday life. “I write songs based on real life situations, from either myself or my homies. I try not to listen to other artists for inspiration like that.” Most recently, he was just in the studio and recorded a song with the one and only DMX. As for music that he listens to outside of his creative process, it’s a lot of older stuff like Dr. Dre and Wu-Tang Clan. But as soon as he begins work in the studio, he says, “I focus on myself and my music. I don’t look to other artists like that.” So you can expect that all of his music is coming straight from him, as an artist who devotes himself fully to his sound and creation process. “I make music for the moment, I just go to the studio and create. I just do what I do.”
Young has one thing he want to make clear to people: ”I always respond to fans. Not all artists will interact with their fans, but I enjoy interacting with them. I’ll respond to DMs and other messages.” As an artist, he’s dedicated to his craft. But as a person, he’s dedicated to his fans keeping the interactions with them up and as a priority.
