Happy Birthday Treach and Action Bronson!

This day in Hip-hip recognizes two iconic artists celebrating their day of birth; greetings go out to Naughty by Nature's Treach and Action Bronson!

Born Anthony Criss in 1970, Treach is best known as frontman to the grammy award winning rap group, Naughty By Nature, alongside fellow members Vin Rock and DJ Kay Gee. Those who closely familiarized with the group, however, would find no trouble at all seeing the spotlight falling unto its charismatic leader, especially on singles such as “O.P.P.” and “Ghetto Bastard.”

The group garnered a respectable amount of accolades throughout the years; their highest accomplishment perhaps manifest in the form of two grammy awards under Favorite New Artist in 1992, and Best Rap Album for their memorable Poverty's Paradise in 1996.

Apart from this, the East Coast emcee has enjoyed success venturing through acting, scoring roles in crime films and television dramas, several leading roles in romance films, not to mention acquiring full frontal in the 2001 crime sitcom, Love and a Bullet.

Born thirteen years following our initial celebrant, Arian Asllani, aka Action Bronson, began making a name for himself in 2011 wit his independently-released debut, Dr. Lecter, only to be followed up immediately with Well-Done, a memorable collaborative project with critically-acclaimed producer Statik Selektah.

Aside from his impressive resume of released mixtapes, albums, and projects, Bronson landed a deal in 2012 with Goliath Artists, which housed several music moguls, such as Eminem, Alchemist, Blink-182, and Cypress Hill, enabling him multiple collaborative efforts, not to mention synthesizing his own distinct style fashioned from the multitude of phenoms around him.

Although Bronson gained recognition for his style resembling that of Wu-Tang's Ghostface Killah, to the point wherein the clansman himself admits to such confusion, Action Bronson's most distinct feature takes form in his ability to fuse his deepest interests into his lyrics, and the result is his passionate, as well as enjoyably comical, flow of rhymes, which usually contain subtle allusions to bodybuilders, figure skating, betting, and food—oh, and did we mention he's also a chef?

Anyway, birthday greetings go out to these two rap icons!
