Happy Birthday to the King of Pop

Michael Jackson, the undisputed King of Pop, would have been fifty-eight years old today. Fans and fellow artists are using the occasion to celebrate Jackson's music and lasting legacy.

Grammy award winning rapper Wyclef Jean of The Fugees expressed his admiration for the late King of Pop on Twitter earlier today, saying "Michael Jackson was my music god, he made me believe all things are possible & through positive music he will live forever, happy birthday." Many other musicians, including The Roots' Questlove and Usher, also wished Michael a happy birthday on social media.

Comedian Steve Harvey reposted a radio interview he did with Jackson, which he describes as "the biggest call ever to my radio station." You can listen to the full interview here.

Movie director Spike Lee hosted a block party in New York's Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood in honor of Jackson, who passed away at the age of 50 in 2009. The all-day party featured Jackson's music, and scores of fans showed up to the event wearing costumes patterned after the many iconic outfits that Jackson wore during his decade spanning career. You can see pictures from the event here.

Michael Jackson's son, Prince Jackson, celebrated his father's birthday by posting a heartfelt poem he wrote about his late father to Instagram. Prince was just seven years old when Jackson passed away.
