Eminem drops anti-Trump "Campaign Speech" ahead of new album

It was Eminem's birthday just a few days ago, but instead of receiving presents, he's giving one out to his fans: the Detroit rapper released  the song"Campaign Speech" today, the first track off of his upcoming new album.

Listen to "Campaign Speech" here.

The song, which tackles many recent political issues, such as the death of Trayvon Martin and the upcoming election, features the intricately crafted lyrics and expert use of internal rhyming scheme that Eminem is famous for.

The track also sees Eminem join the growing list of hip hop artists releasing diss tracks aimed at Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, with Slim Shady taking the infamously xenophobic candidate and his rabid fans to task with his razor wit.  "Consider me a dangerous man/ But you should be afraid of this dang candidate/ You say Trump don't kiss ass like a puppet?/ 'Cause he runs his campaign with his own cash for the funding?/ And that's what you wanted?/ A fuckin' loose cannon who's blunt with his hand on the button/ Who doesn't have to answer to no one?/ Great idea!," Eminem spits on the track.

In 2004, Donald Trump stated publicly that he was a big fan of the Detroit rapper, but like many of Trump's opinions and statements, that will probably change within the next few days. "I know a winner when I see one, and Donald Trump is telling you right now, Slim Shady is a winner," Trump said more than a decade ago. "He's got brains, he's got guts, and he's got Donald Trump's vote!"

Eminem says "Campaign Speech" is just a taste of what to expect from his upcoming new album, which will be a direct follow up to Marshall Mathers LP 2. Slim Shady has spent the last few years releasing singles, doing production work, and has been involved with projects such as the 2015 boxing film Southpaw, but this will be Eminem's first full solo album in more than three years.
