Childish Gambino's next album will be "Awaken My Love"

Childish Gambino a.k.a. Donald Glover just wrapped up the first season of the critically acclaimed TV series Atlanta, and according to some leaked information, the actor/rapper/comedian may be following up his recent acting successes with a brand new album, entitled "Awaken My Love."

Retailers Amazon and FYE may have accidentally announced Gambino's next album today. Amazon accidentally listed the album on their site earlier today, but have since removed the listing. FYE also listed the album as an upcoming release, with a release date of December 2nd.

The first season of Atlanta, a TV series starring Glover, recently ended. The series has earned a positive reception from critics. John Singleton, the director of Boyz N The Hood, praised the series this weekend at ComplexCon, saying “One of the best things that I think out right now out of any media right now is what Donald Glover is doing with Atlanta... The show shows how there a multiplicity in Black America. There are hood folks, intellectuals, different people living various lives. They’re not archetypes. They have color to them. All of them are black and sophisticated.” Glover has also signed on to play a younger version of the iconic Star Wars character Lando Calrissian in an upcoming movie.

While the former Community actor's on screen career seems to be taking off, the timing seems right for a new Childish Gambino album -- the rapper hasn't released anything new since 2014's STN MTN and Kauai mixtapes. His previous studio album, 2013's Because The Internet, earned the rapper a Grammy nomination and an RIAA Gold Record.
