Album Artwork Sets The Hype for Game’s Forthcoming 1992

The hype train finally arrived last December when The Game hinted at his forthcoming album. Despite that, it would appear that fans aren’t necessarily rushing in with all the hype.

The Game’s debuting studio album The Documentary 1, met massive acclaim back in 2005, eventually becoming recognized as one of Hip-hop best West-coast rap records. Just last fall, fans rekindled the familiar hype when Game returned with The Documentary 2 AND The Documentary 2.5.

That being said, The Game’s latest announced project isn’t receiving the same responses as he did with the TD series.

However, it appears that the hype train has finally left station last night when The Game posted the album artwork as well as the release date for the upcoming 1992 throwback album.

1992 cover art… is inspired by what was going on in my life, my city, and the world when I was 12 years old coming into my teenage years,” began Game’s IG post. The art contained cleverly-drawn illustration that would appear to each narrate significant areas in the rapper’s teenage year.

Game solidifies those chapters as he goes on with the post: “The Los Angeles Riots, Michael Jordan and the Dream Team featured above on my shirt won Olympic Gold… Crips and bloods were both pulling me in both directions and joining one of the gangs was almost a normality for a young African American male growing up in Compton and the surrounding areas of Los Angeles county… So these are some of the many topics based around my childhood touched on in this album”.

Game also revealed that the album art’s creator was none other than the well-respected Joe Cool, the artist also responsible for Snoop Dogg’s Doggystyle album.

Produced under the familiar Bongo Productions, 1992 is scheduled for release on October 7th.
