3 Melancholy Gypsys—Murs, Eligh & Scarub—Reunite For Rare Denver Performance

Three Living Legends recently descended upon Denver, Colorado for Rooster ArtFest 2024. On Sunday (September 22), Murs, Eligh and Scarub reunited for a special 3 Melancholy Gypsys set and performed their first new single in four years, "Laserbeam."

Murs, who hasn't performed with Living Legends in years and has essentially retired, frequents the Denver area as part of his Groundwaves program. Launched a few years ago at The Music District in Fort Collins, Groundwaves finds Murs taking on a mentor role, schooling the next generation on the art of MCing and more. The program has since expanded into other states, including Oklahoma and Arkansas.

Several of Murs' protégés performed during the festival and brought a lot of their unbridled energy to the stage. When it was time for 3MGs to hop on the mic, they swooped in like the seasoned vets they are and proceeded to flawlessly execute songs like "Halo," "2010" from Living Legends' Legendary Music Vol. 1 and an Eligh solo single, "Last House on the Block."

3MGs released just one album, Grand Caravan To the Rim of the World, in 2005. In between, they focused on their individual projects and/or group endeavors. Living Legends' most recent album, The Return, arrived in 2023, although Murs wasn't a part of it. Find 3MGs' new single below.
