Ice-T Thanks His "Haters" During Hollywood Walk Of Fame Ceremony

Ice-T received the 2,747th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Friday (February 17). During the ceremony, presenters Chuck D, television producer Dick Wolf and follow Law & Order actor Mariska Hargitay praised the 65-year-old actor for his legendary career. Ice Cube, Russell Simmons, Mike Epps, The Rhyme Syndicate, Body Count and wife Coco were also among the many in attendance.

Grandmaster Flash is continuing his YouTube vignette series with a discussion on "big business." Throughout the two-minute episode, the pioneering DJ marvels at Run-DMC being on the cover of Rolling Stone, Hip Hop being represented at the Super Bowl and different artists breaking into the movie industry.

Grandmaster Flash specifically talks about the Funky 4 + 1's appearance on Saturday Night Live in 1981, the first time a Hip Hop group ever appeared on national television. He determines, ultimately, Hip Hop is no longer "a ship passing in the night." It's here to stay.

Pharrell Williams Appointed New Men's Creative Director At Louis Vuitton

Pharrell Williams has been named the Men’s Creative Director for Louis Vuitton. The announcement comes more than a year after predecessor and Off-White founder Virgil Abloh died. The luxury fashion brand revealed the hire via Twitter on Valentine’s Day (February 14) with a black and white portrait of Williams draped in a Louis Vuitton blanket.

“Louis Vuitton is delighted to welcome @Pharrell as its new Men’s Creative Director,” the caption reads. “His first collection for Louis Vuitton will be revealed next June during Men’s Fashion Week in Paris.”

Death Row Records & TikTok Partner For Exclusive Catalog Release

Death Row Records, Snoop Dogg and TikTok's SoundOn platform have teamed up to bring the label's iconic catalog to West Coast gangsta rap fans around the world. Beginning February 14, singles such as Snoop's "Gin & Juice," 2Pac's "2 Of Amerika's Most Wanted" and The Lady of Rage's "Afro Puffs" will be available exclusively on TikTok for one work ahead of the DSP release. 

“Since I took death row off streaming almost a year ago, not a day goes by without people asking me to put it back up," Snoop Dogg said in a statement. Stetsasonic's Daddy-O Talks De La Soul's Name Origins As He Mourns Trugoy The Dove

The Hip Hop community was dealt a massive blow on Sunday (February 12) when the news broke beloved De La Soul MC, Trugoy The Dove, had died in Maryland. Social media blew up with tribute posts as many grappled with the reality one-third of the groundbreaking Hip Hop group was no longer physically here. 

But some, of course, were closer to Trugoy than others. Among them, Stetsasonic founder Daddy-O, who took his grief to Instagram. Hours after the news had spread, Daddy-O shared how much he was hurting along with how De La Soul got its name. He also revealed he was responsible for getting De La Soul their record deal.
