Peyote Cody

Spawned and raised in Los Angeles, DJ Peyote Cody has been burning turntables since '95. Influenced by Public Enemy, Black Sabbath and Hendrix, Cody manages to stay in touch with the current music scene and mix up the new with the ultimate classics of Funk, Soul, Rock, Metal, Reggae, and the best of Hip-Hop with the most precise skill in mashing and scratching to blow the minds of any crowd and rock the hell outta any party. Hailed as Kool Herc's favorite mixtape artist, Peyote Cody maintains residencies throughout L.A. with globally distributed mixtapes, all with respected magazine reviews, scratch/production work on albums, filmscores and video games, TV and radio performances, international tours, and his own production company. He has toured with Poe/Depeche Mode throughout America and Canada, has a Jazz/Funk improv band that he scratches and performs with weekly with members from Beck, Frank Zappa's band, Fishbone, The Doors, and the Headhunters, has opened for KRS One, DJ Muggs, DJ Swamp, and has performed with or worked on projects with such artists as Snoop Dogg, WC, Awol One, 2Mex, Busdriver, Bob James, Harvey Mason, and Lenny Kravitz. He has also performed at such venues as Madison Square Garden, Staples Center, Hard Rock Casino, events such as X-Games and Etnies skateboard contests, Blender magazine, Urb magazine and Red Bull parties, and has performed on such TV shows as Jay Leno, Craig Kilborn, Conan O'Brien and MTV's Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. While most of todays so-called DJs are in it for the fashion and pressing buttons, Peyote Cody cuts and destroys through pure turntabilism.
