LL COOL J, The Pharcyde, Queen Latifah, JJ Fad, Rakim & More Tapped For YouTube Theater Blowout

The Recording Academy and CBS have teamed up for A Grammy Salute to 50 Years of Hip Hop, honoring 50 years of the culture. The event takes place at the YouTube Theater in Hollywood Park on November 8 and will air on December 10 from 8:30pm-10:30pm ET/PT via CBS. It will also be available to stream live and on demand via Paramount+.

Performances include Black Thought, Bun B, Common, De La Soul, Jermaine Dupri, J.J. Fad, The Lady Of Rage, LL COOL J, MC Sha-Rock, Monie Love, The Pharcyde, Queen Latifah, Questlove and Rakim, among others.

Chuck D Details Making Of Public Enemy's "It Takes A Nation" Amid Anniversary Re-Issue

Public Enemy is set to release a new vinyl reissue of their sophomore album, 1988’s It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back. The album is being reissued to celebrate both its 35th anniversary and the 50th anniversary of Hip Hop.

Russell Simmons Reveals Eddie Cheeba Is Currently Hospitalized

Eddie Cheeba, one of Hip Hop's earliest pioneers, is currently hospitalized, although his condition is unknown. According to an Instagram post from Russell Simmons, Def Jam Recordings' co-founder and Cheeba's former manager, people need to understand the significance of his contributions to the culture.

Arrest Made In Tupac Shakur's 1996 Murder

Duane “Keefe D” Davis was reportedly arrested in Las Vegas on Friday (September 29) morning in connection to the murder of Tupac Shakur. According to the Associated Press, a grand jury in Clark County indicted Davis on one count of murder with use of a deadly weapon and with the intent to promote, further or assist a criminal gang, a prosecutor said in court. Davis is the uncle of Shakur’s suspected killer, Orlando Anderson, who was fatally shot in a drive-by two years after Shakur’s death.
