In the red-accented, black and white video for "Long Live The Chief", the rapper takes his admittedly stylish following to church, strutting in front of a funeral procession. Rapping about running the country, Jidenna reminds us of how versatile his presence is as an artist, going from the fun and bouncy hit of "Classic Man" to the rasping, hard-hitting sound of "Long Live The Chief". Nicki Minaj has promised to release a mixtape six years after her mixtape release 'Beam Me Up Scotty', and hopes to give some inspiration to other female rappers as well. In an interview with Billboard, Minaj explains the impact a mixtape could have on her career, and commits to her first one in six years. "I'll definitely drop a mixture," she told the publication in her cover story, "I have to." She doesn't talk specifics when it comes to the release schedule or the content of the recording. T.I. has been casted for A&E Networks’ Roots remake. T.I. will be featured in the finale episode of the four-part miniseries. He will be playing Cyrus, a strong willed slave who fights for his freedom alongside the Union Army and against the Confederacy. Other cast additions to the Roots reboot are James Purefoy, Mekhi Phifer, Matthew Goode, Lane Garrison, Emayatzy Corinealdi and G. Hannelius. The additions join a cast that includes Laurence Fishburne, Forest Whitaker, Anna Paquin, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Anika Noni Rose, Chad L. Coleman, Erica Tazel, Derek Luke, Regé-Jean Page and Kirby. On Saturday, 2 Chainz surprised Deidre Plater of Palmetto, Georgia, a veteran with disability, by announcing that he would pay her rent for a year. 2 Chainz, born Tauheed Epps, also gifted the family with bedroom furniture and sofas.
