TLC was one of the biggest hip hop/R&B acts of the 90's and early 2000's, but following the tragic death of Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes in 2002, new material from the band has been rare. That's going to change very soon, as the remaining members of TLC have announced that they've completed work on the band's fifth album.
The band announced on their official Facebook page that they've completed work on all fifteen tracks for the fifth - and reportedly final - TLC album.
The album's production was partially funded through an online crowd funding campaign which generated over $400,000 in donations from fans. Pop star Katy Perry, a fan of the band, donated $5,000 herself.
Before going on hiatus following Left Eye's death, TLC reigned as one of the most successful female hip hop acts of all time. Hits like "No Scrubs," "Creep," and "Waterfalls" helped the group become the first all-female band to receive a Diamond record certification from the RIAA.
