Released under Geffen and MCA Records, the album represented another critically-acclaimed collective from the already-decorated rap group The Roots. The album showcased the band's iconic Hip-hop and neo-soul blend, which imminently garnered not only nationwide success, but universal as well. With hit-singles such as “Break You Off” and “The Seed (2.0)”, critics praised the the album for its lyrical themes as well as new musical direction. Aside from this, the album also attained multiple year-end accolades, being indited into numerous year's best lists

Kool G Rap fans the flame burning hot with his distinct brand of hardcore hip-hop with his third solo effort, which brandished Koch Records' insignia. With stellar production showcasing the likes of Bink, Buckwild, Jaz-O, Capone-N-Noreaga, as well as guest vocals from Havoc, Joell Ortiz, and Prodigy, the record inevitably ranked commercial success, not to mention garnering a myriad of positive reviews, such as being noted “pure hardcore rap, with all the dark intelligence and heavy venom hip-hop fans expect from a master.”

Synonymous the album's title, a younger Keith Murray continued his already-applauded journey through hip-hop underground. Released under Jive Records, the album spawned the East Coast emcee's groundbreaking hit-single, “The Rhyme”, which peaked at #12 on Hot Rap Singles in itself, while the album in its entirety peaked at #39 on the US Billboard 200, signifying a cornerstone chapter for the developing young artist. Leo Stanley of AllMusic praised Murray for “his kinetic verbal energy [which] keeps Enigma exciting and fresh.”
Wu Block (2012)

Making manifest in the highly-anticipated collaborative project from Sheek Louch and Wu-Tang's Ghostface Killah, the album featured fifteen explosive tracks, as well as an extensive list of guest appearances, including Raekwon, Jadakiss, Cappadonna, Method Man, Erykah Badou, Inspectah Deck, and more—all of which complimenting the iconic tandem anchoring the entire album. Although the album was released in 2012, the sounds resonated to that of vintage, classic hip-hop, with much of its lyrical background alluding to New York streets and urban life. Needless to say, this album in particular would make the perfect addition to a much-needed throwback playlist.
