TMZ is reporting that rapper T.I. is being sued by a local jewelry company in Atlanta for $700,000, the very same week that he laid his late grandfather to rest.
As reported by TMZ, the jewelry company Aydin & Co. is suing T.I. for unpaid debts on the jewelry they sold him over the past decade. In the lawsuit details, the company delivered an 18.5 karat white gold bracelet, a ring and yellow gold rosary to the rapper in 2014 for which T.I. paid $20,000. According to Aydin though, the pieces totaled at $64,000, leaving $44,000 still owed.
The company has elaborated on further debts owed, suing for a total larger than $700,000; according to reports T.I. is calling the lawsuit bogus.
T.I. is not the first rapper to have monetary disagreements with jewelers, in March of 2015 DJ Khaled was sued by a New York jeweler for $100,000 for pieces that were given to him on a trial basis. In May of 2012, Gucci Mane lost a lawsuit over unpaid diamonds for which he was ordered to hand over $270,000. Similarly to Khaled's lawsuit, Gucci was supposed to either pay or return the jewelry and did neither.
