Kid Cudi was in the running for a role in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, he revealed on Twitter that he auditioned for JJ Abrams' film, dues this December after a fan recommended he audition.
While Kid Cudi is best known as a musician/recording artist, he has racked up his fair share of acting roles recently using his birth name Scott Mescudi. He appeared in the Entourage movie earlier this year, and 2013's Need For Speed, as well as the acclaimed 2010-11 HBO series How To Make It In America.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens is set for release in the UK on December 17 and takes place 30 years after the events of Return Of The Jedi. The script was written by JJ Abrams, Toy Story 3 writer Michael Arndt and Star Wars franchise veteran Lawrence Kasdan.
Although Kid Cudi missed out on a role, the film's cast includes Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver, Lupita Nyong'o, Domhnall Gleeson, Max von Sydow and Andy Serkis, who join returning trio Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher.
