Kid Cudi just announced a few weeks ago that he was working on his sixth studio album, "Passion, Pain, & Demon Slayin'." That album still needs a little bit of "fine tuning," according to Cudi, but today he announced that he's already begun work on another album, which should also be out this year.
Kid Cudi announced on Twitter that he plans to release "Passion, Pain, & Demon Slayin'" sometime this summer, while his seventh album should drop sometime this Fall.
"Passion, Pain, & Demon Slayin'" was originally rumored to be the third part of Kid Cudi's Man On The Moon series. Kid Cudi decided to change direction, however, following the poor critical reception to "Speeding Bullet to Heaven," which saw Cudi experiment with alt-rock instead of hip-hop. "...The Speedin’ Bullet response tore me up." Kid Cudi told Billboard. "It made me realize what’s most important. I’m getting back on the bike again and doing what I do best: me." The new album's title, "Passion, Pain, & Demon Slayin'," refers to how Cudi responded to criticisms of "Speeding Bullet to Heaven," as well as his personal struggle with depression.
