Coolio died unexpectedly in September at the age of 59, leaving a hole in the hearts of many of his peers who loved him. During a show in Miami on Tuesday (October 25), Coolio's close friend and touring partner Tone Lōc, Public Enemy legend Flavor Flav and the pioneering Hip Hop group The Sugarhill Gang paid tribute to the late "Gangsta's Paradise" rapper with a live rendition of "Fantastic Voyage."
Flavor Flav commemorated the moment with a Twitter post that read: "Tribute to my man @coolio with Tone Loc and Sugar Hill Gang. Even though u couldn’t be here,,, u always wit us man."
Of course, this wasn't the first time Flav and Lōc remembered their fallen friend. At a show in Orlando earlier this month, they were joined by Rob Base and Young MC at Impact 22 where they said a few words in Coolio's honor while performing both "Gangsta's Paradise" and "Fantastic Voyage."
Coolio's death sent shockwaves through the Hip Hop community. Everyone from LL COOL J to Ice Cube remembered him fondly on social media. RAPstation sends our condolences to Coolio's friends, fans and family.
