dead prez is reportedly working on a new album, marking the duo's first joint studio effort since 2010's "Information Age." Stic made the announcement while speaking to Green Matters in a recent interview. The veteran MC—who, along with rhyming partner M-1, penned the enduring Hip Hop anthem "Hip Hop" in 2000, also released a book called "The 5 Principles: A Revolutionary Path to Health, Inner Wealth, and Knowledge of Self," which centers on his self-described "healthy gangsta lifestyle." The 48-year-old has been a vegan for 25 years and loves to share his wellness journey with his fans.
"This book is a 20-plus-year labor of love," he said. "It's about a few things. It's a part memoir, in that I share stories on my journey to health and fitness. And, it’s part manual. I didn't want to just tell stories, but I wanted to try to make it actionable and practical for the reader. It’s part manifesto too, because it's the things I've come to believe, it’s what I stand on, what I stand for, and summarized in these five sections that are life lessons, or what I call the five principles."
As for M-1, he's the co-founder of Urban Aroma, a platform for cannabis, art, activism and social equity with editorial and charitable commitments, as explained on its website. For more information, head here while we wait on dead prez album updates. Meanwhile, cop stic's book here.
