March 26th – Digital Underground release their classic debut album “Sex Packets” on Tommy Boy Records, on this day in 1990.

The group’s leader and founder Shock G also used an alter ego called Humpty Hump a la P-Funk with George Clinton.

“Sex Packets” contained the classic smash hits and rap chart toppers “Doowatchyalike” and “The Humpty Dance.” The latter, sampling from P-Funk and Sly And The Family Stone, was itself sampled over 25 times from artist ranging from Public Enemy, BWP, Da Lench Mob and Redman to The Spice Girls, Joe Public and Aaron Hall.
